ABSTRAKSI: Jaringan akses yang diimplementasikan dalam interkoneksi dari penyedia layanan ke pelanggan pada jaringan komunikasi yang luas membutuhkan biaya yang besar pada realisasi, instalasi, dan maintenance. Oleh Karena itu penyedia layanan mencoba merealisasikan akses jaringan semurah mingkin untuk mengurangi persaingan yang memungkinkan penyedia layanan yang baru mencari solusi untuk memiliki jaringan akses sendiri. Hal tersebut memunculkan salah satu alternative solusi, yaitu Broadband PLC (Power Line Communications) BPLC merupakan jaringan akses telekomunikasi dengan memanfaatkan jaringan kabel distribusi tenaga listrik sebagai media transmisi data.<br> Implementasi jaringan akses BPLC perlu memperhatikan jaringan kabel listrik yang sudah ada. Topologi jaringan untuk suatu daerah bisa berbeda dengan daerah lainnya. Beberapa parameter QoS seperti throughput, packet loss dan delay tergantung sebaran pelanggan, serta tipe pemukiman pelanggan. Jaringan akses BPLC berawal dari base station, repeater, gateway, serta modem.<br> Pada tugas akhir ini dibuat perencanaan jaringan akses BPLC berbasis jaringan distribusi tenaga listrik menggunakan software Network Simulator 2, dan MapInfo Professional 8.0 untuk menggambarkan lokasi pelanggan, tiang listrik, gardu, serta perangkat PLC. Perencanaan jaringan akses BPLC dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan untuk daerah cakupan Gardu Auto wilayah Bandung Selatan<br>Kata Kunci : BPLC, Qos, base station, repeater, gateway, modem, Throughput, delay, PacketlossABSTRACT: Access network implemented in interconnection service provider into subscriber in wide area communication network is needed a lot of cost in realization, installation, and maintenance. Therefore service provider trying to realize a cheap access network, reduce competition and make a new internet network access. This is one of the alternative issue solution, called Broadband PLC (Power Line Communications). BPLC access network is a telecommunications network using the Powerline distribution of electricity as a medium to transmitting data.<br> Network topology for a region are be different to the other regions. Some of the QoS parameters such as throughput, packet loss and delay depends to the distribution of customers, and to the residential customers. BPLC network access was from the base station, repeater, gateway, and a modem. <br> At the end of this made the task for BPLC metwork access planning-based powerline distribution network using software Network Simulator and MapInfo Professional 8.0 to describe the location of customers, electric pole, bus shelter, and the PLC device.
