Colleges and universities are entering a new era where students are able to outside of the classroom than within it. This learning is enriched by new instructional technologies and online interaction that enables the spectrum of in-classroom, distance and blended learning. Students benefit from the ability to choose the mix of course types that best fits their learning style and available time, conventional learning cannot solve that issue. Distance learning becomes a good solution to fulfill that condition. In the distance learning program, the existence of technology is mandatory consider it is a high investment.Understanding students’ perceptions regarding distance education is the first step for developing and implementing a successful online learning environment. The primary contribution of this research is understanding the influencing variable of students’ intention on adopting technology. The model presented in this study is formulated by using a modified of variables based on the UTAUT model of Venkatesh in 2003. The modified model based on the study literatures of technology acceptance theory from TRA to UTAUT theory.The study was conducted by giving a questionnaire to 170 students who expressed through questionnaires and deep interview. The questionnaire consisted of 36 items with 4 options, with a scale of 1 to 4; the score ranged from 170 to 320. The reliability of the questionnaire is tested by the Cronbach’s Alpha technique, the validity by Pearson Product Moment Correlation technique using SPSS 17. The software used was Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) by using SmartPLS 2.0The result shows that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, attitude toward behavior, content quality and pedagogy have strong predictive power for measuring the students’ behavioral intention with R square=61%. Behavioral intention has strong predictive power for measuring the students’ use behavior with R square=52%. Following to the results, one of the characteristic of distance learning program is the learning process between the students and the lecturers is in the different places. The researcher believes that the distance makes the communication have bigger possibility for any distraction and the engagement between students and lecturer are lesser than in conventional class. The reseacrher believes that it shall be better to put more concern on buidling strong engamenet between students and the lecturers.
