Advances in digital technology have driven changes in the way people obtain information. One of the social media platforms that plays an essential role in fulfilling public information needs is Instagram. The Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia utilizes Instagram @kemenhub151 as a means of disseminating information related to transportation policy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the @kemenhub151 Instagram account in meeting public information needs using the Uses and Gratifications theory approach. The research method employed is a descriptive quantitative approach, which aims to test several hypotheses that have been formulated. The population in this study consisted of followers of the @kemenhub151 account, with a sample of 400 individuals selected using probability sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through a survey, where questionnaires were distributed to active Instagram users who follow the @kemenhub151 account via direct message. The results of this study indicate that the use of Instagram (@kemenhub151) is effective in meeting public information needs, as evidenced by indicators of information, personal identity, social integration and interaction, and entertainment.
