ABSTRAKSI: Abstrak Mobile Wimax (Worldwide Interoperability for Wicrowave Access) merupakan teknologi dengan akses wireless pita lebar berstandar IEEE 802.16e yang didesain mengatasi keterbatasan jaringan wireline untuk memenuhi kebutuhan layanan broadband akses ke pelanggan yang dibarengi dengan mobilitas tinggi. Kelebihan Mobile Wimax dibandingkan dengan teknologi generasi sebelumnya yaitu interoperability, security, availability, capability (mampu memberikan layanan broadband), NLOS (Non Line of Sight), jarak jangkau yang luas dan mobility, maka Mobile Wimax tak kalah penting juga menawarkan QoS (Quality of Service). Dalam penelitian tugas akhir ini, dilakukan simulasi dan analisis performansi jaringan mobile wimax (IEEE 802.16e) terhadap perubahan kecepatan user dalam mengakses layanan data dengan pemodelan jaringan menggunakan software simulator yaitu NS-2 (Network Simulator 2). Penilaian performansi jaringan menggunakan parameter-parameter Quality of Service (QoS) seperti throughput, delay, jitter, dan paket loss. Sedangkan kecepatan yang di ujikan dalam tugas akhir ini adalah kecepatan user ketika 0 km/jam, 5 km/jam, 15 km/jam, 30 km/jam, 60 km/jam, dan 120 km/jam. Hasil simulasi diperoleh bahwa perubahan kecepatan user dalam mengakses layanan data berpengaruh dalam kualitas data yang diterima oleh user, dalam hal ini kualitas data yang diterima oleh user mengalami penurunan seiring dengan bertambahnya kecepatan user. Hal itu terbukti dengan bertambahnya nilai delay, jitter, dan paket loss. Serta semakin mengecilnya nilai throughput seiring dengan bertambahnya kecepatan user. Dari analisis di dapat bahwa kualitas data yang diterima user mengalami distorsi pada kecepatan 60 km/jam, karena nilai jitter dan paket loss yang didapat sudah melebihi standar internasional yaitu untuk nilai jitter < 5ms, sedangkan paket loss < 5%.

Excess Mobile Wimax compared to a previous generation technology is interoperability, security, availability, capability ( can give the service broadband), NLOS ( Non Line of of Sight), apart the wide range and mobility, hence Mobile Wimax do not less important also offer the Qos ( Quality Of Service). In my final project, will be done a simulation and analyse the performansi of network of mobile wimax ( IEEE 802.16e) to change of speed user in accessing data services which modeled network using the software simulator that is NS-2 (Network Simulator 2). Assessment of network performance use the parameter of Quality of Service ( Qos) like throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. While speed which is tested in this final project user speed when 0 kmph, 5 kmph, 15 kmph, 30 kmph, 60 kmph, and 120 kmph. Result of simulation obtained that the change of user speed in accessing data services have an effect on quality of data that accepted by user, in this case the quality of data accepted by user is become degradation along with increasing of user speed. That thing is proven by increasing assess the delay, jitter, and packet loss. And also progressively minimize assess the throughput along with increasing of user speed. From the analyse we can get that the data quality which accepted by user became distortion when user speed at 60 kmph, because the value of jitter and packet loss is over international standard that is jitter < 5ms, and packet loss < 5%.
