ABSTRAKSI: Perkembangan teknologi jaringan yang mengarah ke jaringan IP dan trend layanan telekomunikasi mengarah ke layanan quad-play. Layanan ini merupakan layanan suara, data, video dan mobility dalam satu paket layanan. Kualitas layanan harus tetap dijaga pada saat user dalam kondisi bergerak / mobile dan berpindah ke jaringan lain. Mobile IP digunakan untuk menjamin keterhubungan / koneksi user agar layanan yang diakses tidak terputus. Performansi mobile IP dilihat dari besaran delay, jitter,packet loss dan throughput.
PT Telkom merupakan operator yang memiliki kemampuan untuk memasarkan layanan mobile IP. Analisis performansi dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelayakan penerapan layanan mobile IP di PT Telkom dengan studi kasus di kodya Bandung.
Berdasarkan simulasi didapatkan jumlah simultaneous user 8 dengan prosentase packet loss < 5%. Selain itu didapatkan kecepatan maksimum perpindahan user agar target kualitas layanan tercapai yaitu < =10 m/sKata Kunci : Quad-play, mobile IP, delay, jitter, throughputABSTRACT: The development of network technologies that lead to IP networks and the trend of telecommunications services leads to quad-play services.
