ABSTRAKSI: Bagi semua orang, waktu terasa sangat berharga. Begitu padatnya waktu, terutama bagi dosen pengajar, menyebabkan banyak kegiatan – kegiatan ataupun janji – janji yang bersifat penting terjadi bersamaan dalam suatu waktu. Sehingga dosen harus memilih di tempat mana beliau lebih dibutuhkan dan sering membatalkan kegiatan atau janji yang telah disepakati sebelumnya dengan tanpa memberikan konfirmasi terlebih dahulu. Pembatalan janji ataupun kegiatan tanpa konfirmasi oleh dosen ini sering membuat mahasiswa ataupun civitas akademik menunggu dosen tersebut dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Untuk itulah diperlukan sebuah sistem informasi kehadiran dosen.
Sistem informasi kehadiran dosen yang dirancang pada Proyek Akhir ini menggunakan Arduino Uno, sensor PIR, PC, dan Dot Matrix Display. Input data kehadiran dosen dapat dilakukan secara manual dengan menggunakan Program Informasi Status Kehadiran Dosen N-109 yang dibuat menggunakan Visual Basic 6.0. Format data yang bisa diinputkan adalah : Kode Dosen, Status Kehadiran, dan Pesan yang ingin ditinggalkan. Input data secara otomatis dilakukan oleh sensor PIR yang akan mendeteksi kehadiran dosen secara berkala. Output 5 volt (High) akan dihasilkan bila sensor mendeteksi dosen berada di meja nya. Sebaliknya Output 0 volt (Low) akan dihasilkan bila dosen sedang tidak berada di ruanganya. Arduino Uno yang berfungsi sebagai pengontrol sistem akan mengolah input data dari PC dan sensor PIR dan selanjutnya akan mengirimkan bit-bit yang dapat diterjemahkan oleh Dot Matrix Display untuk menampilkan kalimat teks berjalan.
Kalimat teks berjalan berisi informasi seperti “Dosen Sugondo Ada” saat status kehadiran Dosen terdeteksi sensor dan “Dosen Sugondo Tidak Ada” untuk kondisi sebaliknya. Teks berjalan juga dapat berisi pesan yang ingin disampaikan Dosen seperti “Dosen Denny Darlis (DAD) Tidak Ada Saya sedang rapat”. Dengan demikian Sistem Informasi Status Kehadiran Dosen pada ruang N-109 ini dapat direalisasikan dan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh seluruh civitas akademik IT Telkom.Kata Kunci : Arduino Uno, Sensor PIR, Dot Matrix Display, Visual Basic 6.0ABSTRACT: For everyone, time was very valuable. So that the lecturer should choose to the place where they are most needed and often cancel appointments or activities that have been agreed in advance by without giving confirmation. Cancellation of appointments or events without confirmation by the lecturers often make students or the the other academic community wait for a long time. Because of that we need a presence information systems of lecturers.
Presence information systems of lecturers that is designed in this final project using the Arduino Uno, PIR sensor, PC, and Dot Matrix Display. Teacher attendance data input can be done manually by using Attendance Status Information Lecturer N-109 Program created by using Visual Basic 6.0. Data format that can be entered are: Lecturer‟s Code, Presence Status, and Messages. Automatic input data is performed by a PIR sensor that will detect the presence of the lecturers frequently. 5 volt output (High) will be generated when the sensor detects the lecturers while they are at their table. Otherwise 0 volts output (Low) will be generated when the lecturers are not at their room. Arduino Uno which serves as the system controller will process the data input from the PC and the PIR sensor, then sends the bits that can be decoded by Dot Matrix Display to make running text sentences.
Running text sentences contain information such as "Lecturer Sugondo Present" when the sensor detected the presence of lecturers and "Lecturers Sugondo Absence" for the opposite condition. Running text can also contain the message from the Lecturers such as "Lecturer Denny Darlis (DAD) Absence I'm in a meeting". Thus Attendance Status Information System Lecturer at room N-109 can be realized and can be utilized by the entire academic community of IT Telkom.Keyword: Arduino Uno, PIR Sensor, Dot Matrix Display, Visual Basic 6.0
